Here are the We Love Maple Grove initiatives that happened in Fall 2020:
First, we blessed every elementary classroom teacher in our city with an appreciation bag full of goodies. Being a teacher during the pandemic means greater challenges than any other year. Thank you to our teachers!
Second, we have a significant food need in our area. The impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt financially by many in our city and surrounding communities. This has been evidenced by our local food banks and food shelves being depleted. We partnered with CROSS Services, and together our churches ran a month-long campaign with each church hosting food drives to raise much-needed food, resources and awareness to a growing problem in our community.
Third, we partnered with TreeHouse to offer a free webinar entitled “Parenting a Teenager During a Global Pandemic” to everyone in our community. Because of the pandemic, we are seeing our teens experience higher levels of anxiety, depression and loneliness. But they’re not in this alone, and neither are parents!
