DONATION DRIVE FOR THERESA KITS Women's ministry is excited to share about a need that has moved us to action...and YOU can help! At our February Prayer & Purpose gathering, we heard from Amy Charpentier about Theresa Kits. They are feminine hygiene kits that are delivered to village schoolgirls in Malawi by Pastor Theresa through the organization African Missions for Christ. The realization that women & girls in these poor villages rarely have underwear, let alone basic supplies to manage menstruation, was appalling & inspired us to take action! The resulting loss of days in school for these girls, and ultimately early drop-out from school, only reinforces the cycle of poverty. With a simple hygiene kit - that includes underwear, reusable pads, a washcloth, a Ziplock baggie, and a small soap neatly packaged in a colorful, reusable drawstring bag - these girls have a way to manage their cycle for at least 3-4 years so they can attend school and have a chance at dignity and a brighter future. We're asking for your partnership in donating girls' underwear and Ziplock baggies to help create these kits. Our priority will be collect lots of underwear (follow the link below for details) and ALL women of the church are invited to gather on May 18th after church for our "rolling party" Prayer & Purpose event.
