What about Baptism? "Baptism and the Bible" Jesus directed us to practice baptism, but he did not give any teaching with that command. However, baptism was a common practice in both Jewish and Greco-Roman cultures, and there are many images connected with it in other parts of the New Testament. Together, they give a rich and diverse sense of why baptism is important for the Church and for individual Christians.
