Craig Case

Lead Pastor

Craig loves God, golf, literature, golf, films, golf and a clean bathroom. And as a life-long fan of base(golf)ball, he and his son, Alex, are visiting every major league stadium in the country: 13 down, 18 to go. Get it? 18. See what we did there?

Craig joined our staff as Associate Pastor in 2011 and eventually transitioned to Lead Pastor. Prior to our church, his 20 years of experience included everything from Youth Pastor to Church Planter. Craig earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota (Ski-U- Mah) and a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Christian Thought from Bethel Seminary (we’re not sure, but “Christian Thought” kinda sounds made up...just sayin’). He began his Doctorate Studies in 2014, and in his abundant “spare” time, he teaches at Bethel University and North Central University in adjunct roles.

Craig loves the community at Maple Grove Covenant. He believes that life is a compilation of the messy and the beautiful, and it's his desire to make this church a demonstration of love. So much so, that when people visit, they will remark: "Oh, how they love their God.  Oh, how they love each other.  Oh, how I want that love!"

Oh, how we love this fella.

Kay Wiens

Children's Ministries Director

Kay is a dedicated Christ-follower, a loving mother, a talented teacher, and can lap almost anyone in a speed walking race.

She is blessed with a fantastic husband, Scott, three incredible boys (Jared, Tyler and Blake) and a really, really big dog, Hugo. Kay loves watching her kids play all manner of sports, baking delicious confections, and catching sunfish at her family’s cottage in Nisswa.

It’s a great joy for Kay to lead Children’s Ministries at Maple Grove Covenant. She loves teaching kids to trust Jesus as their forever friend and love him with all their heart. She’s the real deal, and we’re thankful that she’s part of our team.

Brian Schroeder

WORSHIP & Arts Director

Brian Schroeder is a lover of Chinese takeout and reality television. He takes IKEA a little too seriously and has studied every Calvin & Hobbes comic strip to a point near memorization.

Brian joined the Maple Grove Covenant team in the summer of 2014. Before that, he led worship at a Lutheran church in Fridley. Before that, he studied Art and Reconciliation Studies at Bethel University. Before that, he led worship in a variety of churches way back into his teenage years. Before that, he was a child.

He loves the people at our church and considers it a privilege to be part of the way God interacts with them. He recognizes the importance of dialogue in centuries of musical praise—from hymns to current songs—and his goal is to reflect that in his worship leading.

He’s an amazing musician, but a better guy. We’re on Team Brian.

Sara Grose

Financial Administrative Assistant

Sara is the behind-the-scenes superhero of Maple Grove Covenant. Between handling the church's finances, facility needs, and HR, there's very little she doesn't do!

Sara was born to be Covenant—growing up at 1st Covenant Church in Minneapolis, where both of her parents were on staff for decades. She affirmed her Covenant cred graduating from Minnehaha Academy before she earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota. Plus, she is a charter member of our own little corner of the Covenant, and we’re so lucky to have her.

Sara shares a blended family with her husband Marlin, their seven children, six children-in- law and 17 grandkids. They’re her passion, and she loves nothing more than hosting pool parties and hanging out with family and friends.

Sam Randall

Student Ministries Director

After a sojourn through Chicago and West Michigan, Sam, a born-and- raised Minnesotan, returned home in 2015 to serve at Maple Grove Covenant Church. He is married to his caring and resplendent wife, Annie, and together, they have a brand-new daughter, Margot, born February, 2016.

Sam leads our student ministries—which means he chose to devote his career to all-night lock-ins, bus rides and dodgeball–and he loves it. He’s carefully crafted a culture where our kids challenge each other and grow together. We’re stinkin’ blessed to have this guy.

Sam enjoys old-man hockey, fresh grass, barbecued bratwursts, tight harmonies, and slip-n- slides. He is also content and happy to be a former shake-weight user.

Carrie Law

Carrie is inspired by all of God’s creation—especially the pink, frilly and sparkly parts. Carrie has been attending Maple Grove Covenant since 2001 and was thrilled to join the staff in 2014. She attended Minnehaha Academy and earned her degree in Elementary Education at Bethel University.

To Carrie, Maple Grove Covenant Church is a second home and a full-fledged part of her family. She loves being on the staff (I mean, who wouldn’t. Have you read these bios?)—a staff that she says “support, surround and encourage one another.” Plus laugh. They laugh. A lot. And they love Carrie. Like we all do.

Carrie is married to Dan and they have three remarkably fabulous children: Austin, Sophie and Winston. When she's not at church, she enjoys reading, traveling and wandering aimlessly around the mall…perhaps looking for those pink, frilly and sparkly things.

Leadership Team

Our Leadership Team in collaboration with the Lead Pastor prayerfully discern God’s will for the church, evaluate the execution of the mission and direction of the church, provide spiritual leadership, oversee the business affairs of the church, facilitate resolution of disagreements and conflicts, or spiritual recovery, and cultivate a community marked by love.
